The Common Stingaree (Trygonoptera testacea) is of the family Stingarees (Urolophidae), and the Order Myliobatiformes of Rays. It is a regular sighting in Sydney. During the spring and summer months they appear to almost line the sand at some dive sites, and at night as you turn your torch across the sand you can see what seems like hundreds of eyes looking back at you.
