Side Gill Slugs (Pleurobranchs)
Side Gill slugs are a type of sea slug related to the more famous nudibranchs. Also known as sea owls these curious creatures are quite alien like and often have striking looks about them. My favourites are the Euselenops luniceps species which are seen during Spring in Sydney roaming around on the sand, often in pairs. They are very cute!
Pleurobranchaeidae (side gill sea slugs, or Notaspidae) are from the Phylum Mollusca, the class of Gastropoda and the subclass of Opisthobranchia.
