Camp Cove is one of my favourite sites in Sydney. It is a really relaxing dive, protected from the swell and is diveable in almost all conditions. It is a shallow sandy dive full of life at night. This dive site is also set in one of the prettiest beach locations so makes a great day for non-divers who can relax on the shores and for snorkellers to enjoy.
This site is quite a popular spot for fishing boats so even though the entry and exit is very easy the boat traffic is a real danger here. If you come diving be prepared to use a deployable safety device / SMB / flag to ensure people know you are there and ascend close to the line making sure no boats are overhead. If divers head out too far in the harbour it is extremely dangerous as the ferries come past here at quite some speed. For that reason it is recommended that divers come here through organised guided shore dives from Dive Centre Bondi.

The dive site is quite different during the day and night, and I personally much prefer the night diving here. Regularly spotted here are curious friendly octopus, cuttlefish, fan belly leatherjackets, striped catfish, estuary catfish, wobbegong sharks, seahorses, moray eels, rays, porcupinefish, squid and an array of crabs and nudibranchs.

There are two car parks at either end of the beach for access and for those shore divers who do not like to walk long distances before a dive Camp Cove is the best option in Sydney.
