Eight Armed Sea Star
Meridiastra calcar
Meridiastra calcar
The Meridiastra calcar (Eight-armed star) is a very common seastar that divers may not even pay much attention to, but they are on the ground in the tidal rock pools at the entrance and exit of most shore dive sites in Sydney. They are only the size of the palm of a hand or smaller and highly variable in colour.
