Scorpionfishes are very common in Sydney. They are a family of spiny fishes that all possess venomous spines. Their sting is not fatal but would produce extreme pain followed by numbness. If you were to be unlucky enough to get stung then supposedly the victim should immerse the wound in very hot water. As with all the advice in these pages, everything in the ocean is for looking and not touching!
