The most regular species of eel seen in Sydney is the Green Moray Eel (Gymnothorax Prasinus) of the family Muraenidae, in the order Anguilliformes.
With their fangs and mannerisms they can appear like something out of a horror movie, but fear not, they open and close their mouths in order to breathe. They are a powerful eel and can grow very large. When they want to move they can also be quite quick using their single fin extending from their head to their anus. Often found hiding in rocks or crevices through Sydney.
