In Sydney the most common family of Anglerfish seen are those within Family Antennariidae.
The Striped Anglerfish can be seen on the sandy floor or on rocks but are exceedingly well camouflaged and difficult to spot. They can get as large as the size of a rugby ball.
These are some of the most colourful and interesting fish that we see in Sydney and divers all get very excited when we see them! They are extremely variable in colour and patterns.
