This species of shrimp is seen at many sites across Sydney but you have to look deep into the gaps between rocks, or in the darkness of overhangs. They are stunning with their bright red body, spots and stripes.
This species of shrimp is called Rhynchocinetes serratus and is from the large infraorder of Caridea within the huge order of Decapoda, which also includes all prawns, crabs and lobsters.
