Spring in Sydney is during the months of September, October and November. The average temperature is 22 degrees Celsius and average water temperature range at 19 degrees Celsius. The chance of storms decreases during this time and the water visibility is still pretty good. The average visibility under water during Spring is 10 metres but can often be much greater.
During September into early October the whales start their migration back down the coast from Queensland to Antarctica and so there is a good chance to still hear them sing underwater in early Spring. Port Jackson sharks become more grumpy as mating season continues and during October it is more common to see baby Port Jackson sharks (only 10cm long!).
