Moorish Idol (Family Zanclidae)
The blockbuster movie 'Finding Nemo' gave character and a face to the Moorish Idol (through the character of Gill). For a tropical fish the Moorish Idol fish have the ability to survive in cooler temperatures and can be seen during the summer and winter in Sydney. This is the only fish in its family and looks very similar to a Butterflyfish species called a Reef Bannerfish. |

Butterflyfish (Family Chaetodontidae)

Blackfish (Family Girellidae)
A family of fish similar to the Stripeys seen sometimes in Sydney. The largest of the striped fish families in Sydney. |
