The Tarwhine (Rhabdosargus sarba) from the family Sparidae (Snappers & Breams) is rarely seen by divers in Sydney. It is distinguishable from the other species in this family by the apparent striped markings along its side. This fish can reach 45cm in length and is targeted by commercial fisher vessels.
